The last days of summer

The breeding season is winding down in the mountains and any vestige of cool air and moisture is being replaced by scorching heat and hot blasts of dry wind. I saw my first fall migrant landbird today, a Willow Flycatcher, and I realize that summer is over, the baby birds are getting bigger and flying away, and the yearly cycle is changing to support a new guard.

So, I took a few pictures of what was around.
