Lancaster Sewage Ponds

I’ve been trying to make one or two visits a week to the Lancaster ponds through the spring and summer. It’s been decent birding. Nothing weird has turned up, but since nothing really sticks around there it’s a great place to witness migration. Wilson’s Phalaropes (above) have been passing through going south for almost a month now, but numbers continue to build. Western and Least Sandpipers, Marbled Godwit, Black-bellied and Snowy Plovers, Whimbrel are all regulars. Keeping my fingers crossed for something better, though.
